As I mentioned this evening at practice I would like to practice tomorrow at Frontier since the weather will be nice and to make up for the practices that were canceled. I know it’s late notice and understand if you cannot make it. Looking to practice from 5:45pm – 7:15pm.

Great practice and unplanned scrimmage this evening against Mary Bradley’s 13U Tournament B team. Looks like the girls had fun planning against their friends. We had great pitching and decent fielding. We’ll work on catching fly balls, but I know the sun was challenging this evening.

Practice is canceled for this evening due to the weather. There is a 50% chance of thunderstorms at practice time so I didn’t want to risk have the girls outside plus wanted to make the decision early as possible so you could make other plans. I’m sure the weather will turn nice now.

Please make sure you are throwing on our off days and going to batting cages if possible.

I will try to add practices in to make up for the ones we miss. Please check the team calendar for updates.

The schedules for our season were released today and I’ve added the dates to our calendar. The first game is scheduled for May 24th, but I will be trying to reschedule because we don’t have enough players to play.

The managers were informed that there is little to no flexibility in rescheduling because of the limited number of days in the season and blocking time out for the holidays.  If I know we do not have enough players for a game, I will do my best to see if a mutually agreeable time and location can be worked out with the other manager. Unfortunately, with the limited number of days available to play, it will be difficult to find dates available to reschedule games forcing us to forfeit games if we don’t have enough players.

Please review the calendar and let me know ASAP if you need to miss a game.

I have a managers meeting with Southwest Suburban this Thursday and should have more definitive information on when the season will start and dates for the Southwest Suburban end of season tournament. The tentative date for the  beginning of the Southwest Suburban Tournament is July 13th. Currently the tentative date for the beginning of the season is May 21. I am trying to push this because of numerous conflicts with mandatory end of year school activities, plays, concerts, games\meets, and Religious Ceremonies.

I will add the tentative dates to our calendar to help everyone plan.

Outdoor practice times have been added to the calendar. Our next practice is Wednesday, April 18th at 5:45 PM – 7:15 PM. The practice will be at Frontier wherever we can find an open field or spot. We will be working on conditioning, outfield defense, and hitting off live pitching.

Please check the calendar for the other practice times. Please email me if you will not be able to attend any of the practices.

I will be setting up outdoor practices beginning around April 14th. Looking at having one practice during the week and one on the weekend.  Tentatively looking at Monday and Saturday practices, but could change depending on weather and conflicts with other games etc.

Season

The SWS season for 14U and up will open around May 27th. No dates have been given and hoping to have those by end of April.
