Sunday, March 11, 2012  7 PM – 8 PM Batting Practice at ESP (Note: we also have Skills and Drills at Bednarcik from 12-2)

Saturday, March 31, 2012 5 PM – 6 PM Batting Practice at ESP

Melzacki 14U Spark Families,

We have started working on game situational drills and strategy in practices and will be placing more emphasis on this in future practices so the girls feel comfortable working together as a team. During the practice on Sunday 2/5/2012, we started working more on bunt defense and learning when the pitcher should cover third base. In addition, we started having the catchers give signals for calling pitches.

The next couple of team practices will be at ESP, so we will be on the turf using the official hard 12 inch softballs. This will give us an opportunity to better simulate how things will feel during a game.

Coach Dave and I are happy with what we have seen from the team so far. One of the areas that we keep emphasizing with the team is that they always remain confident. We are all going to make mistakes, coaches included. We just need to bounce back after these mistakes and remain confident that we are going to make the next play.

Hi Diamond Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday. I wanted to give a quick update on our schedule for the next couple of weeks. Please note that I added batting cages for Sunday January 8th at ESP from 7 – 8 PM.

Team Practice on Saturday January 7th from 2-4 PM at Bednarcik.

Batting Cages on Sunday January 8th from 7-8 PM at ESP.

Scrimmage Game on Saturday January 14th from 4-6 PM at Bednarcik.

Batting Cages on Sunday January 15th from 7-8 PM at ESP.

The location of batting practice has changed to a different ESP building within the same industrial park.

The address is 1517 Mitchell Drive, Oswego, IL

It’s located near the indoor golf building and does have ESP signs on the door.

Team Name – We need to come up with a team name that distinguishes us from the other Naperville Diamond teams. These are a couple of ideas below. Please let me know if you think of others and we can take a vote.

Uniforms – A uniform date has not been set. Adrienne, our team uniform coordinator will send out information when the date has been set.

• Discussed with the girls during practice and we decided that the team will be wearing black pants this year instead of shorts to protect the girl’s legs when sliding and diving. Adrienne will send out more information when we get it.

   

• We will be wearing the white jerseys this year.
